Elon Musk unveils new Tesla ‘flying car’

Autos and Vehicles

Tesla has unveiled its new and redesigned Roadster - a 'flying car' that can turn in the air and land. [Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe] Developed in collaboration with CEO Elon Musk’s rocket company SpaceX, it's claimed the Roadster can accelerate from zero to 60mph in less than one second and can hit a top speed of over 230 mph. Tesla demonstrated the two-seater vehicle at a livestreamed event in Texas, showing it driving upside down on a ramp and performing a mid-air flip. Musk told the crowd, "It can basically fly like a rocket", but admitted it's "not necessarily a safety-optimised car." It remains unclear how the proposed flying features would work on public roads, or whether they would be legal. Production is set to start in 2028. ------- Get more news at our site - https://www.channel4.com/news/ Subscribe to our Substack newsletter: https://channel4news.substack.com/subscribe Follow us: TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@c4news Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/channel4news/ Twitter - https://twitter.com/Channel4News Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/Channel4News/
