It looks great but $40 for the set seems like so much when the fish is kinda small. $20 seems fair. I just forget how rich people in NY are even compared to the rest of the country. 😭

I was just in Japan and had a set lunch breakfast every day since it was included with the hotel. Most of it was pretty simple but still tasted so good, and I had the most amazing onion soup I've ever had. It wasn't French onion because it didn't have cheese or anything but it was just so good 😭😭😭.

Dashi is the base stock for miso soup, so it's no surprise they have the good stuff! I stayed in a little country B&B place when I was working in Japan, so I had miso soup for breakfast almost every day. Really good miso soup too, so mostly I'm a bit disappointed with what I get in the average Japanese restaurant here. It's all in the dashi!

have you ever been to BCD tofu house? They are a korean restaurant and have a location in manhattan where they do a lunch special of stew and spicy raw marinated crab, as well as other korean dishes. It is to DIE for. i live like 45 min outside the city and I want to go into the city just for this meal 😭😭
