Tommo had his eye on a brand new bale trailer costing €6,750, but we had other ideas! His existing trailer could carry four bales, but he wanted room for five. Rather than spending a fortune on a new trailer, we decided to see if we could extend the one he already had. The plan was simple enough — add another two feet to the front of the trailer. So out came the grinder, welder and a few bits of steel, and we got stuck in! There's plenty of cutting, welding, fabrication, problem-solving and a bit of craic along the way as myself and Tommo tackle the job. By the time we finished, I'd reckoned we'd saved Tommo around €6,500 compared with buying the new trailer! Was it worth the effort? Have a look and see what you think. Always good to see the High Risk Pilot in action. Is he never not smiling?! Although I must admit, as a Scotsman I struggle at times with his accent! Great job on the trailer and an excellent video.
After seeing sheds burnt in my younger days I'm looking at the hay and straw around where you working. 1 was from someone cutting with a gas torch. Did you ever have it start smoldering on you ?
Morning David family, friends and YouTube community.
the high risk pilot seems handy with a grinder
great job , farmers make a plan
Would you ever worry about a fire after your finished work
Great job David and Tommo. The Oxford oil cool welder are a brilliant machine
Good to see a 0 waste approach. Great skills, like myself and many others we do not put enough emphasis on Health and Safety. We are worth it too.
can't beat a farm fix
I couldn't watch you put your foot on that pickup hitch, dangerous things they can be. Great job with the trailer Tommo seems well happy with that!
Squirt of wd-40 on the galv saves the grinding disc getting gummed up takes all the hardship out especially on a 4” disc
Hallo aus Deutschland Ich sehe fast alle eure Videos. Aber in diesem brennt ihr bald euren Stall ab.🙈
Always enjoy the hi-risk pilot. Nice vid
TOMMO -says. Weld done.🤣🤣🤣
no painting ? love your work
Love seeing tom (high risk pilot) in the videos, Good job, Trailer will be useful, However with that report from the uk recently. Where the farmer got years in prison for someone running into the back of the trailer you might want to get the strobe light and some extra illumination back on there
Clever engineering 🦋
12:52 Classic 'pigeon poo' welds caused by lack of CO². It's probably too heavy a job for flux core, but stick welds with 4mm 6013 or 7018 rods would have been okay, I think.🤔
Great video David 👌
Great video David. Mighty job on trailer extension for Tommo Enjoyed watching. 👍🏼👍🏼
