There's a LOT happening around the watermill in this episode. We remove several exterior light fixtures so the painters can properly cover the plaster, begin restoring the old stonework, repair a leaking truck topper, replace seals around the windows, and watch our painters work from an impressively tall ladder on the watermill's turrett. And then comes the moment we've been waiting for... After years of imagining what this place could look like, we finally step outside to see the new color on the house. It's one of those renovation moments that makes all the dust, uncertainty, setbacks and hard work feel worth it. We also talk about what it's really been like putting our life savings into building a new life in Portugal, share some of our favorite lessons from buying property abroad, enjoy an incredible harvest gifted to us by one of our painters (Nuno and Nuno 🥰), and I make lunch with vegetables grown right here in the mountains...
