Inserting a PS2 DVD creates a game tile with cover art directly on the PS5 home screen. You can run games straight from the disc or copy them to the internal SSD for better performance and faster load times. Sony should have been doing this 10 years ago with PS4. Allowing physical PS2 discs to work natively.
this means it was always possible, Sony just never wanted to do this for gamers.
Sony is going to wish they had done this because now it's TOO LATE.
If Sony wants to close the book on physical media, then we can close the book on the PlayStation brand by taking their final real console and turning it into the machine it should've been on day one.

I don't know what makes Sony look worse here: That the PS5's disc drive could actually read PS2 and PS3 discs this whole time, or that the hacked-in PS2 and PS3 emulators are able to run the games way better than the official emulation Sony currently offers.
