Somewhere in the background Pinkman is yelling βMAGNETS, YEEEAAAAHHH!!!β
The movie is called The Illusionist (2006) if anyone wanted to know...good movie
Bro the sneaky fart noise you plopped in there was epic hahah π
I wanted to like this movie, but they never offered any explanation for how the most important tricks were performed, which is kinda necessary for a film that's centered around the protagonist's ingenuity. Edit: Yes the movie's about a magician, but its not a magic show, its a movie! A magic show presented in front of a live audience is impressive because of the real-time illusion. However, in a movie, there's nothing impressive about fooling the audience watching a TV screen because they can just use CGI. As such, the impressive part of a magician film must instead be the reveal of the plot and methods, even if they are fictional. Watch 'The Prestige' if you want to see how a magician movie should be, and yes, in that movie they provide an explanation of how the tricks are accomplished, even though the explanation is fictional.
This movie is severely underrated and underappreciated due to the fact that another great movie with good actors in it came out around the same time with us pretty similar premise
Caliburn was the Sword in the Stone. Excalibur was given by the Lady of the Lake.
Another movie underrated due to the curse of Edward Norton. He is always engaging in movies where the plot is important yet he somehow tries his best to shift the focus to the interpersonal interactions and characters' reactions instead, which may cause the plot to be considerably difficult to follow.
I thought he put a voice on when acting King Baldwin, literally sounds the same
I don't think the magnets of the time were that strong.
This movie is peak
THE ILLUSIONIST
Great movie, Great actors
one of the most underrated movies, i think THE PRESTIGE stole it's thunder, they are both great movies, but this is the superior ones, love both actors, same as the prestige, but this is the one.
Ah, magnets
that man has a knack for being cast as a man who never gets the girl "can't pull out ? you'll never be emperor" is a mad line π
Asking to see a sword like that and then touching the blade is like being invited into someone's house and then walking on the white rug with your shoes on
The fart sound got me π
Millennials really loved magic
One of the best movie ever
might i see it? π₯Ίππ
