“We’re buying sticks and stones from Amazon. Where are we at, as a species?” 😂😂😂
I haven't been able to completely eliminate Amazon from my purchases, but I've massively cut back. It's taken a while to find things in other places. It requires conscious effort.
I didn’t realize you got married! Congratulations!
I very much appreciate your change of heart re: Amazon! I refuse to watch content built around Amazon hauls or sale days & haven’t shopped with the company in more than a decade. Bezos doesn’t need another dime.
Thank you Nick for not supporting overconsumption ❤
I appreciate your take on Amazon and the hyper consumerism circling around it. I think we all need to take a step back and reflect on our purchasing habits, and I think other stores like Home Goods and Target fall in to the same category
Nick Lewis Quote of the Week: [re. Dyson]…I don’t need a camera in my teeth. I don’t need to know what’s going on back there. That’s between my dental hygienist and Jesus” Preach!😂😂😂
As a Brit who was a very early adopter to Dyson I will never ever buy another Dyson product because James Dyson was a Brexit supporter who moved his operations to the far east making the vast majority of his British staff redundant while claiming that the EU was the reason British manufacturing was suffering. Guy’s a scumbag and his business can rot in hell as far as im concerned.
biggest problem with Amazon is the plethora of completely unknown manufacturers
Thank you for speaking out about problem brands/products. There is and has been an "enshitification" of all of our consumer products for years, but now, since Covid, and especially in the last two years, it’s gotten ridiculous.
Most of my purchasing itches are solved by adding things to Amazon wish lists. I go through them occasionally to remove stuff that I don't really need. More and more over time, I've found that most of the stuff that I thought I wanted at the time I don't actually need.
Nick Lewis revenge video—I’m here for it!
I’ve tried several Dyson models, and finally bit the bullet and tried Shark. I wish I had done so sooner because Shark beats them all by far!
I miss the clock, Nick. 😢
I was so happy to see Dyson on your list. I bought a vacuum from them when they first went on the market, what 20 yrs ago? It caught on fire!!!! I will never buy from them again.
Damn, dyson vacuums are truly awful. I had 2 (almost $1000 each) and they both crapped out in under 5 years.
The best line I've heard in a while: "that's between my dental hygienist and Jesus" 😂
I love how honest you are. Refreshing.
Could not agree more with Amazon home products. I bought an Amazon enamelled cast iron braiser, and at first I loved it and thought I got such a good deal. After using it for a while, the handles were uncomfortable, it easily chipped and it was very heavy. Fast forward to me seeing Le Creuset in store, and could instantly notice the difference in quality and weight. I bought the Le Creuset and dropped the Amazon off at my local share shed.
Steve Sheinkopf at YouTube channel Yale Appliance completely agrees with your take on JennAir and Miele. In fact, he put out a video just yesterday talking about how JennAir and other premium brands have gone downhill in recent years. I highly recommend his channel for anyone in the market for new/replacement appliances.
