For those asking what he did: In 2017 ish he blamed declining pizza sales on NFL players kneeling during the national anthem. (Implying people weren't watching and therefore buying fewer pizzas). This was not well received at the time and he and the company took a lot of backlash from it. Then it got worse. Months later, on a conference call that was supposed to be some kind of brainstorming session designed to help him avoid future public relations mistakes, he made it worse. From what I remember he must have been annoyed by having to do it at all because he said "Colonel Sanders (KFC guy) referred to black folks as (insert N word here) and never faced any public backlash for it" A lot of social movements (cancel culture, #metoo, etc) were either at their heights or just starting to explode nationwide and this series of incidents predictably led to his ouster from the company he founded.
