So its stuck in reverse. The neutral safety switch would keep it from starting for this exact reason, but you bypass that switch by just jumping it at the starter harness like that. Learned that lesson the hard way as well👍

This used to happen with the Ford C4 transmissions. The linkages wouldn't fully shift into Park. They were sued because of it after a small child was killed.

Neutral put it in Neutral and set parking brake.
