You've reached the end
Given that it was liable to stress the poor man every time he saw it, removing the skeleton seems a good call
I actually went "Oh fuck, an idiot", and then went "Oh shit, I'm sorry..."
Props to the dad. He learned he had dementia and his only thought was “yeah that tracks”.
I figured it was a dumb prank, but somehow it was worse.
"Yeah, we're gonna go ahead and take that skeleton" 😂🤣
I was honestly expecting this to turn into a Halloween prank, but was not expecting the dementia one-two knockout.
Reminds me of my grandfather. Losing your mind is terrifying.
That kind of dementia would genuinely make me scared and painfully sad for someone…
We put one of these out on our porch. It's been days and our puppy still can't stop barking at it. 😂
Aww! This is hilarious, but also a little sad. Dementia is terrifying. 😟
In all seriousness I feel really bad for that dad, he probably was really worried
Having had a grandmother with dementia, this hits kinda hard. In her case, Gram suffered from severe separation anxiety if she wasn’t within arms reach of me. She would call and cry out her bedroom window for me if I was outside doing yard work or such. She was combative with everyone else in the family, especially my mom (her own older daughter. Eventually, she couldn’t remember who exactly I was, thinking I was her brother and later couldn’t even tell what relation I was to her but didn’t want me to leave her side. Gram passed away from heart failure immediately after a bout of pneumonia in late March of 2019. An autopsy revealed her heart was full of sepsis like a gummed up car engine. While I miss the better times with her on occasion I am more relieved that her suffering is over. Dealing with her twilight years was hell. 😩
It changed from "haha, what a dummy" to really sad. Bless his heart. Please don't use any scary or strange decorations during holidays. If someone in your group is not comfortable with or gets scared by such things, it's better to avoid them. I was really thinking "get rid of it!" and was happy he did.
Dementia and Alzheimer's are heartbreaking. I worked in a memory unit at an assisted living facility for a while. One of the ladies would put food in envelopes. She also didn't know where the bathroom was so sadly the floor or couches would become the bathroom. You would find clients that didn't live in that room asleep in other clients' beds. We had a lady who would forget she ate and call up the kitchen saying we didn't feed her. And that we threw away her food.
I wouldnt wish dementia on my worst enemy
Why do you give me things to ADD to my list of daily fears? EXPLODING HEAD SYNDROME!? SERIOUSLY!?
"You gotta help him!" *turns to look at the pile of bones*
I have exploding head syndrome. It's like somebody slammed a heavy stack of books next to my head on a table. It happens at about the same time you would get that feeling that you're falling and jerk awake. Same idea but it's a really loud explosion or bang. As an adult it's just annoying. You do eventually learn when you hear that boom that it's in your head. It still wakes you up with a start. But you're not frantically running around trying to find out if a terrorist attack is happening.
This is so accurate, the anxiety, any logic has left the room, and when they finally calm him down he forgets all about being calm & the conclution reached & starts all over again
Came for the laughs got punched in the feels instead
