EA Shuts Down BioWare

I'm so glad they forced the Studio to waste its time working on Multiplayer Live Service Slop for the tail end of its lifespan. If only this could have been prevented somehow.

Seriously sad... I worked at BioWare on DA:O, DA2, ME2 and ME3... huge part of my career that I will always cherish.

saw the thumbnail and I just stared blankly

We all expected it, and it still hurts to hear...

"We've had a good ride.......The best." - Mass Effect 3 Citadel DLC

I’m still happy I got to experience the mass effect trilogy. My name is commander Shepard and this is the saddest news I’ve received today

Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights, Jade Empire, Mass Effect...

EA was trying to fit a square peg into a round hole with Bioware. Forcing them to make the kinds of games the founders of the studio set out NOT to make. Such a sad thing to hear.

Mass Effect was a world I was completely immersed in. Sad.

Bioware was mismanaged into a shambling corpse of itself a long time ago. Sad to see it go, but the studio that made all those massive RPG hits hasn't been around for a while now.

It takes a whole other level of incompetence to ruin a name like Bioware. Almost impressive in a way.

I guess doing apology push ups didn't work out for them?

This definitely hurts the chance of jade empire 2

This year has been a BLOODBATH.

This is absolutely mindblowing yet not surprising. They've been teasing ME for 6 years now with nothing else to go on.

Bioware died 10 years ago.

RIP Mass effect, damn. I hope they at least sell the IP to someone who cares.

Christ I can't believe it, Mass Effect and Dragon Age are massive childhood games for me, moreover Baldurs Gate, KOTOR and Jade Empire! What a sad end for such a legendary studio, but I guess they had their 3 strikes in a row

Years of teasing and getting me excited about the sequel with connection between OG trilogy and Andromeda just to shut down the whole project

Leveraged buyouts should not be legal, full stop.
