To be fair the Duo hasn’t even shipped anywhere in the world, it’s not surprising that updated apps aren’t available yet.

I am an app developer on one of the apps you mentioned. Nobody told us that people would be given review units before the 23rd and their reviews would be based off of that time window. We are releasing our compatible version on the 22nd. I am sure most of the apps will be compatible within the first week.

Apple needs to get rid of that obstruction bar all together. Put that info into a slider thats hideable/expoable via an action bar thats overlayed over everything.

None of the reviews of the Duo that I’ve seen - of which, yours as usual is the best - have said anything about what it’s like to use the Duo to make phone calls.
App optimisations were my big concern for buying it at launch. I remember with the iPhone X which was the last major screen redesign it took a long time before it became standard for apps to take up the full screen. Although the phone is sold out for months, I suspect when it starts becoming more available the major apps will have been optimised

I guess I'll see how I really feel in a couple days, but I love the concept. I will say though for me this is costing way more than initially expected. So I am ok with the cameras on the Duo because I am 95% of the time not taking photos with my phone. However, when I do that 5% it is my main camera and I want my memories to be as clear as possible. To accommodate this, and I believe this mind set is why Apple did this, is going to be to keep my existing iPhone 17 Pro Max and put it on the iPhone Handoff plan when it releases on Verizon in a couple months. This will generally solve the issue for me as I generally know in advance when I am going to want the better cameras, but it does suck because I can't use my 17 as a trade in, or even if they are only supported the 18....

Man the way you are opening this duo is giving me heart attack 🤣 This is so expensive in Germany approx 2300€ . I also do not understand the use case for fold phone and I actually don't see anyone using it in Berlin 🙃 Pls suggest want to upgrade from 14 pro to 18 pro max . Is it worth it . Battery is at 76% . My 14pro still looks more premium than current gen. Very stupid confusion also checked 18PM in Apple Store and went for burgundy but that looks shit . Black is also bad now inclining towards silver
