Explanation why this works: because your eyes adjust when on different environments when its dark your eyes specifically the pupils or retina becomes larger to consume more light/reflect light so it becomes clearer than in the dark than in the light because when you have your pupils are larger you will be blinded for a few seconds and it will take time to adjust to the light so eye patches does work the other eye is for sun light the other is for dark

No it did not work the eye you covered was not exposed to the sunlight so it's pupil adjusted to the dark very easily where else the one that was exposed to the sunlight it was unable to adjust easily and when you cover your eye it doesn't it does not give you the ability to see in the dark all it does is weaken your eye
