Well, you aren't throwing away $189 since the check does have to be cashed, which won't happen unless the company is still doing the offer. You're only throwing away the 50 cents it takes for the stamp
You won’t get scammed since the check only goes to company. In rare case the company name doesn’t exist and someone malicious made the same company name in order to check in the check
Call the number or visit the web site. If you check the website those items are no longer listed as for sale.
