How I debloated my Mi TV (Android TV 9) wirelessly using ADB (no root needed) 1. On the TV: Settings > Device Preferences > About > press "Build" 7 times to unlock Developer options. 2. Settings > Device Preferences > Developer options > turn ON "USB debugging" (this also enables network/wireless debugging). 3. Connect your laptop and TV to the SAME Wi-Fi network. 4. Find the TV's IP address: Settings > Network & Internet > your Wi-Fi name (e.g. 192.168.1.xxx). 5. Install ADB on your laptop. Mac: brew install android-platform-tools | Windows: download "SDK Platform-Tools" from developer.android.com. 6. Connect wirelessly: adb connect <TV-IP>:5555 7. A popup appears on the TV. Select "Always allow from this computer" > OK. 8. Check the connection: adb devices (it should say "device", not "unauthorized"). 9. See all installed apps: adb shell pm list packages 10. Remove an unwanted app (and its data): adb shell pm uninstall --user 0 <package.name> (e.g. com.miui.tv.analytics) 11. Changed your mind? Bring it back: adb shell cmd package install-existing <package.name> 12. Free up storage by clearing all app caches: adb shell pm trim-caches 8G 13. Make the TV feel faster: adb shell settings put global window_animation_scale 0.5 (repeat for transition_animation_scale and animator_duration_scale) 14. Stop background tracking: adb shell settings put secure location_mode 0 and adb shell settings put global wifi_scan_always_enabled 0 15. Stop auto-updates: open Play Store > Settings > Auto-update apps > "Don't auto-update apps". 16. Custom home screen: adb install YourLauncher.apk, then adb shell cmd package set-home-activity <launcher.package>/<.Activity> 17. Wait about 30 seconds after any change before restarting the TV, otherwise Android may not save it. 18. Do NOT remove: Settings, Google Play Services, Play Store, the keyboard, Live TV/HDMI input apps. On Mi TV, disable the setup wizard instead of removing it: adb shell pm disable-user --user 0 com.google.android.tungsten.setupwraith Tested on Mi TV 4. Do this at your own risk. A factory reset brings every removed app back. ⚠️Risks: Leave wireless debugging OFF when you're done (anyone on your Wi-Fi could try to connect). Removing the wrong app can break features, so only remove what you recognise. Turn auto-update off and you must update YouTube/Play Services manually. A factory reset restores everything.
