AI is getting too realistic

99% of people definitely will not realize this kind of photo is AI. Nobody really looks close to everything unless they have initial suspicion

I just realized I picked a bad place to show motion blur. The hand holding the bag could be moving quickly, but the light post on the left side of the frame would have been a better choice. My bad.

the "PIZZA" sign threw me off and scared me a little even. I remember AI not even being able to write a word without looking weird, now look edit: some people are pointing out it's been like that for a while, but I'm saying the progress between 2020-2026 is crazy regarding how far they've gotten scaling up model sizes, using larger datasets, adopting transformer architectures, etc. at a much larger scale and faster rate than I would've expected. Either way, 2020 felt like yesterday to me.

I wouldn't know this photo is AI. you telling me this is AI makes sense. I can see it now. But if I wasn't vigilant, I'd never go looking for the inconsistencies

People are forever gonna think I’m AI because I have weird, long, wonky fingers and the tip of my index finger on my left hand is slightly deformed due to an injury 😭 I guarantee if I posted some pics featuring my hands most people would think it’s AI lmao

What is concerning is that the more we try the more they try too, revealing this kind of information gives us a way to spot something that might have been patches in the future, a constant cycle of survivalism against ai fake news and content and us.

Is it just me or does the hand and arm look too big, out of proportion? But again, the main thing I would look for is context. Is this woman saying she wants a boyfriend and needs someone to put money in her PayPal account? Then probably not real.

The sad part is this is only how hard it is to tell right now. In a few years because the tech progresses so rapidly there will most likely be no way to tell at all. The future is getting scary.

Motion blur and focal blur can indeed happen at the same time. They are dictated by different parts of the camera (Aperture and Velocity)

I have crooked fingers (swan fingers) and oh my god I have been accused of being AI so many times, and it really got to me because me and my friends would always pose for pictures with a silly ✌️ or other hand sign, but now I catch myself trying to hide my hands in pictures. AI literally made me dislike a part of my body that I never cared about before. I used to like my hands, even when I was a hormonal teen I wasn’t insecure about my hands, my fingers are all crooked but I have long fingers, I don’t do my nails often because I have a pretty natural nail bed. But now AI made me insecure of a part of me I once thought was pretty, and that kinda sucks. it’s weird how much ai can impact people that aren’t even in the “ai bubble” like jobs and artists. Is interesting to see how many different ways AI has affected people, that people would never think about, if anyone wants to share.

You realize we went from hyper obvious to having to point out small shit in a matter of like 5 years right? The only option to find out its AI in the next 5 years is AI itself...

The only reason I can tell what is AI is the fact that I take a lot of pictures with my camera and spend a lot of time making sure I keep only decent photos, so I tend to pick up on inconsistencies.

Actually I know lots of people who LOOOOOOVE taking blurry photos of themselves. To the point where they deliberately move the phone while they take the picture to get the right amount of blur 😭
