as a scientist at heart and as a person with a passion for research, I've missed your science explained videos! they're so well researched and written - being able to do what you do is an incredible feat. it's such a privilege to be given all of this knowledge in an easy and consumable fashion through your videos. can't wait to see what else you have in store for us ❤
everything in moderation, even moderation 💃 this is for those unsatisfiable craving kinda days, you know? ♥
I'm almost started crying when you said "if you are still working on your relationship with food, I'm super proud of you."... This is exactly what I needed to hear today. I am so excited that you are bad to YouTube but I won't be watching this one. Thank you for being such a healthy light within the health and fitness space. I am truly grateful.
You (briefly) cited Dr Stevenson (who wrote the paper on western-style diets and hippocampal-dependent learning) who collaborates with my lab!! I study the effects of western diets on the hippocampus :) It is nice to see our work in mainstream media! Great video once again, it's definitely a complex subject to tackle but you did it so well!
So happy that you came out with this video... literally going to go through and read every single study you shared in the description box 😊🙏 thank you for sharing~
So happy you’re back!!! And proud of my relationship with food and how far it’s come- I can watch this with no trouble while eating a chocolate chip cookie, right before my workout! 😉 About a year and a half ago I was eating 800 calories a day, hadn’t touched bread/refined sugars in years, and was weak, miserable, and unhealthy inside and out. I realized it was unsustainable and I had to put my focus on being healthy rather than staying skinny. About 6 months into reverse dieting, I watched a video of one of yours and Mario’s donut dates, and I drove to my local donut shop afterward and enjoyed my first donut guilt-free- that was a monumental day for me! 💕 I eat intuitively now, but the last time I counted calories I was eating ~2100 a day. Now I’m lifting weights and feeling stronger and happier than ever! So thank you for the instrumental role you played in my recovery. Grateful for you! 💖
Anecdotally ever since I stopped restricting myself and just give in to cravings I almost NEVER binge any food or have any cravings. It's kind of wild honestly. As someone who struggled with an ED for 10 years it has kind of changed my life
I didn't realize how much I've missed seeing the little notification from you these past months! You are an absolute joy to watch and always brighten my day with how cool you are throwin down facts! Glad you're back :D
Sometimes you just gotta eat a full bag of doritos, once in awhile! I always love how you once said "everything in moderation, even moderation." Ps hopefully once this pandemic passes, you'll plan another newhorizon escape! An adventure getaway sounds amazing after all of this
I sing “carbs, carbs, carbs!” The way Motley Crue sings “girls, girls, girls!”
This couldn’t have come at a more perfect time! I’ve fallen out of my meal prep routine and I’ve been having so much trouble sticking to my healthy meals😩
SHES BACK! Thank you so much Natacha for being such a huge inspiration to me. As always, you have been such a great motivator for me to recover from my ED and proving that it IS POSSIBLE. Love always ✌️❤️
Very helpful: informative, not fear-mongering, but not downplaying the effect of these ultra-processed foods. Good breakdown of why being drastic doesn't usually result in long-term success.
i appreciate how compassionate you are when talking about any foods <3
I have never clicked on a video so fast! So happy to see you making educational science based content! You were the first person to help me understand my health and how to take care of my body! Thank you so much for all you do for me and this amazing community! 🥰🧡
Just wanna add about the menstrual cycle part that women’s cycles can vary a lot more than the average 28 days (between 21-40 days) and the luteal phase can vary much more than 14 days, roughly 11-17 days but can be shorter for some women. Just a mention :)
QUEEN IS BACK AGAIN! i love these science explained vids :)) so excited for more content ❤️
I mean, she's literally educating us while entertaining us too
Great video! I'm someone who struggles with overeating these kinds of foods and it is sooo useful to hear some actual scientific reasoning rather than just hearing "you need more will power". Factors like stress, lack of sleep, etc might be hard to address but it's a concrete starting point - plus there's definitely both mental and physical health benefits to addressing these issues! <3
Natacha: "the tortoise always wins". Me *having struggled to keep up with one of her workout videos this morning: ah, fantastic, i'm winning.
