No need to parboil rice, not everybody does that. I even prefer not parboiling so the rice and cook well with the jollof flavours

next time, per boil the rice first, after frying the sauce with all the ingredients. pour the rice in and stir with the sauce before putting water. Allow to cook till it's done. Don't use that much water for the quantity of rice you used. Also stir the rice with the sauce away from the stove to avoid burning before it's done
