You've reached the end
Key to cutting an onion without crying is to not be emotionally attached to it 😂😂😂 my culinary teacher told this joke lol
“Let the knife do the work” And that’s how I lost my fingers.
This is the moment Gordon massacred a humble onion
And he still has all of his fingers. That's the talent.
Lady act like she was in church hearing a good sermon 😂😂dang
"let the knife do the work" It's been 10 minutes gordon and the knife doesn't do the work. UPDATE: still waiting for the knife to do the work... (im only joking guys)
this exact reason actually is why new trainee chefs in large kitchens are always relegated to prep work duty they can learn and perfect these skills to become better cooks and chefs
In every show, he always shows why he is in charge. He walks the walk, not just talking the talk.
I need one of those knives that do all the work
A humble “Oniooown”
If you put a wet paper towel or rag next to the cutting board you will not have stinging eyes. The chemical in the onion is attracted to water (the closest being your tear duct) Lifesaver tip and it DOES work, try it you’ll thank me
Here is a pro tip when cutting onions to avoid crying. Wet a couple of squares of paper towel and place it either on or next to your chopping board. Also wet both the onion and your knife. The fumes that release when you cut the onion are attracted to moisture and normally, the closest source of moisture would be the water in your eyes. But if you have the wet paper towel next to the board and a wet knife and onion, the fumes will instantly be drawn to those rather than your eyes. I started doing it a few years ago and I have never once cried cutting onions since.
Gordon makes the onion cry
Gordon at 22: Oh boy i sure hope i dont get my butt kicked! The humble onion:
Roots or not roots. You only cry if your knife isn't sharp enough. True story
I had to just call my wife in from the kitchen to show her this. That FINGERNAIL is KILLER dude.
Crazy exactly what he said is what i went through at the age of 18 after 1 years working as a dish washer i was a prep cook then line cook then I just became chef. There is no sous chef in the restaurant i work at just dish washers prep/ line/ plating/ chef i run the who back of the store but once you learn how to cut with the guidance of your fingers without cutting them, you can master any food that needs to be cut
Oh I see, Gordan shows off his knife skills, everbody swoons. I do it, and Ive "ruined the bris".
In his tutorial videos, he says keep the route on and cut towards that, because cutting the root off is what releases all the stuff that makes your eyes tear up. I have no idea if that is scientifically true, but it’s interesting he gives opposite advice in different videos. (In another video, he shows how to cook a steak in a skillet, and he says to not constantly flip it and instead only flip it once. But in another similar tutorial video, he talks about the need to flip the steak every minute or so.) 🤷🏻♂️
Gordon rizzing up the ladies 😂🔥🔥🙌🏾
