You've reached the end
100% true. I studied html, css and JS for a few months before attending a coding boot camp. I still didn’t know what I was doing when I started school but by the end of the school I felt comfortable troubleshooting code and helping my classmates. 4 days after completing the school, the school hired me to be a coding mentor. I’m 2 months into the job and learning a ton!
As a professor at one of the top Web Development universities in our country, I can’t tell you how correct this advice is.
People don't understand, when you do more than what's expected you get skipped above and beyond
This advice is actually insanely good lol.
I took your advice I’m week 3 into the bootcamp now and let me just say thank you because had I jumped into this unprepared I would have sank by day 3
At the end of the day, it's all about grinding and going the extra mile no matter what field you're in.
Oooo flawless advice, thank you I wouldn’t have thought of this
As the saying goes you only truly learn what you half already know.
This advice can probably be applied to so many other careers. He’s basically saying be engaged in the class and show your commitment to the craft by helping others. Obviously you will stick out amongst the crowd of people who are entirely green.
Yeah, I really wish I would have had this advice before hand. The boot camp’s are going to try to get you in as fast as possible, but just take this advice. I didn’t find out about this pre boot camp work until I got my first computer a week before I had to start my course. I was typing only 9 words a minute and had never owned my own computer before. My school stuck with me and allowed me to take the time I needed, I could have saved a lot of trouble and excelled far beyond what I did. I honestly found out about my pre boot camp work from John and would not have done any thing to get ready if it was not for him.
Having been in the industry for 15 years now, I can say people dont fail because they do it wrong, they fail because they are not mentally wired for it. You either have the aptitude for it or you dont, thats why traditionally youd have to pass an aptitude test to qualify to learn the course. Rule of thumb, if someone is trying to sell you a get rich course, RUN.
Why is Punisher trying to teach me how to code?
Thanks for the advice! Very much appreciated
This advice seems sound and logical. I overprepare to avoid setbacks. I have been studying from free material online. I plan to enroll in a coding boot camp next year. I don't like the uncertainty of learning something completely new in a matter of months. I will definitely follow this advice.
Thanks man, really a very great advice on every single level
this is the first video with this kind of intro that turned out to be legitimately good information 👏🏽
OK I learned that by knowing anything valuable you can help others but an online setting bootcamp class is very intangible
Thanks for the tips.
Yep , and works a lot for everything. That’s the motivation you have on it . I teach to my classmates calculus , programming , English etc … Teachers at the U saw me and start making much friend with them and I got job offering all the time , it’s really another world when you change your mind . ❤ good job showing this .
this is exactly what i was thinking about doing just so i have extra time before i get started. I was really nervous about just jumping in with almost no knowledge so i think i'll definitely take this advice
