Im Polish-American my grandmother's brother was liberated by the Americans from Dachau it was one of the few concentration camps that did not tatto the inmates because they weren't supposed to live he talked about it a few time's when he was drunk he would cry he spent over 2 years there insane amount of time to survive he was just a regular Polish towm clerk and anyone educated the Germans are taking you. Great content John, what a life.

I have a once-removed uncle who was apparently prodigious. So suave and slick, dressed like an understated rich kid even though they had no money, charmed his teachers, profs, employers. Top student, picked up English in India in a tier 3 city 50 years back. He pulled several scams, including taking over an entire newspaper and creating s Ponzi model out of it. He eventually started showing signs. Less sophisticated stunts, more drinking, criminal friends. eventually the family realized he had broken bad entirely. One day we get the news that he drove off the road. The other three men involved walked away with no injuries. We call it a drunk driving accident, but all know not to go asking beyond that.
