Fun fact: the film’s characters were originally going to be penguins but they changed it to beavers due to movies like Happy Feet, Surfs Up, and Penguins of Madagascar having penguin protagonists. This happened similarly in Rio’s early development, which was originally about a penguin who’s washed up to Rio de Janerio before changing the concept into being about a Spix Macaw.
I actually have Bambi on dvd and they did something similar for an hour. All the animals especially the bunnies roaming around.
