I know it's common knowledge that the Zuck has no soul. But damn, look at that tired face. That's anything BUT a happy and moral human being.

Meta’s business model nowadays is layoffs and lighting billions on fire…

I think that 50% layoffs are in-store for the short term and 80% in the medium term, off of historic high engineering employment. The chaos is only getting started. We are engaged in a makeover of the economy and the culture.

Sounds like Meta's management needs a thorough house cleaning all the way to the top. I guess Zuck better start hammering out more code that someone else will have to fix. At some point, they are gong to run out of people to layoff.

wow - another round. I remember several years ago Meta wanting me to interview and I declined. I'm so glad I made that decision. A coworker that went to Google just quit and is moving back to India. He did 4 years and the RSU's gave him good returns so he will do ok. There simply isn't the need for as many software developers anymore. Just like the industrial revolution hit its peak so goes the digital revolution. It's the perfect storm with AI and reduced opportunities for tech growth.

Imagine what it would do to an industry to have 50 thousand added applicants.

I say… unlike Henry Ford that made vehicles that his employees could afford, “modern (American)” companies don’t care if they have customers, they care only about advertising dollars and pleasing stockholder portfolios. American companies haven’t cared about their employees since Reagan hit the stage and put on a fine act, but a lousy performance…

Great thing about working in big tech and FAANG for the last 20 years is you are rich enough to decide if you rather work in tech or just invest in tech.
