I honestly wasn’t prepared for how emotional Jackie’s story would be. Watching her arrive terrified, weak, and unable to drink milk, then slowly learn to trust Mama Posseh, completely broke my heart and healed it at the same time. The moment the honey trick finally worked felt like watching a miracle happen in real time. You can tell these caregivers aren’t just doing a job — they genuinely love these chimps like family. Mama Posseh singing to the babies while feeding and comforting them was one of the most beautiful things I’ve seen in a wildlife documentary. It really makes you think about how similar chimp emotions are to our own and how devastating it must be for them to lose their mothers and homes.
In the wild intelligence is not measured by knowledge but by the ability to adapt learn and pass it on to the next generation Respect to Nat Geo Animals for showing this so clearly

Watching this makes me honestly wish I'd known of the plight of baby chimps years ago when i was young & healthy enough to learn from Mama Posseh how to help them. So many places humans can do so much good of only they would..... Mad Respect to this lovely lady who is mama to so many....❤❤❤❤❤❤

What’s fascinating is how healing for chimpanzees isn’t just physical — trust itself has to be rebuilt. You can actually see fear slowly turning back into curiosity.
Chimpanzees may not speak our language, but their pain, love, and trust feel painfully human.

For all the people who think “humans are nothing but a plague, we deserve to go extinct” they should know humans are the only species that does this for other species. Not because it’s easy, because of love and passion for these wonderful creatures. In a country torn apart by war and disease, there is no logical reason to give away valuable resources, time and energy towards an entirely other species. Yet these people have, and not for money or prestige, but because of love and selflessness.
As interesting and fascinating as chimpanzees are I’m surprised there isn’t more documentary type films covering them and their ways of life. Chimp Empire is hands down my all time favorite documentary and I do wish there was more. Please Nat Geo make it happen!
