You know what I love about these shorts is when text or messages appears on it and some of them are in the bottom covered by video title or description. 🤗

I wish people would stop telling kids and hopefuls they don’t need a degree or certifications. I am a tech manager and I can assure you, you do need these things. Not because we think having either makes you better than the person who doesn’t.. because it’s required by HR. Your resume isn’t being picked by us. It’s being fed through a scanner, sent to HR, and then HR forwards what they perceive to be good candidates over to us. YOU DO NEED THESE THINGS OR YOU WILL NOT EVEN MAKE IT PAST THE SCANNER. Can you get lucky and pull it off without both in some small IT atmosphere? Sure. But is that likely? Absolutely not. Just get the degree and certs. Don’t significantly lower your chances of even making the first cut through that HR gateway.

This is motivating me a lot. I come from a non IT background, will do my masters in cybersecurity and analytics starting this fall. Before anyone judge me on my decisión to continue to getting another degree , well my bachelors is in anthropology and although I have good communication and analytical skills, I haven’t landed a job yet, after a year of graduation, not even in my own field, so now I am looking for a more stable job . And cybersecurity seems really interesting to learn about I have taken some LinkedIn Courses for this reason I decided to persue my master on it. Yes, it will be hard, but hopefully it will be worth it.

Yet somehow the HR never hires someone without certification 😂😂😂

Bro where?!? Every time i apply they say i dont have enough certs degrees or experience. Where are all these "jobs"?!!?

Another fact is that is that one of the best and easiest ways to get job experience in cyber security is to work as a 17C in the Army. A lot of college students struggle to get a cyber security job after they graduate because many of them lack prior job experience.

Cybersecurity doesn't necessarily require degrees and that's what I like about the career path.

Basically it’s all about timing and who is willing to take a chance on you in this industry
