This is the problem when have stockholders that don’t know anything tell you how to run your business. Running the economy to its lowest just to get a return on investment.

Liesman was right, there’s a lot of assumptions be made about AI replacing jobs that simply isn’t supported by the evidence. There are far more structural economic reasons for why layoffs subdued hiring are happening right now.

This analysis is spot on. The comments these folks make is 100% accurate. It helps with tasks, coding , writing , researching , but can’t really do an entire job . It can’t even do customer service!!!!

This misses the main point. The business isn't "hurting" by accident. It is "hurting" because it is spending billions of dollars to buy the new AI systems. The layoffs are not an excuse; they are how they pay for the AI. This is the definition of Wage Compression. Companies are trading the high cost of human workers for the high cost of new machines. The goal is to replace the human worker permanently - or at least the vast majority of human workers.

So companies are so concerned to admit publicly that the economy is in bad shape, in fear of government abusive pressures, that they are now blaming AI? OMG. How can we solve problems when we keep creation illusions out of fear and/or corruption?...

It's less embarrassing for corporate management to blame layoffs on (so-called) A.I., then to admit they are incompetent and hired too many people in the first place.

Been saying this for the longest! Anyone who has ever worked in corporate America 🇺🇸 knows that 90% of ALL the jobs are BS! You spend most of your day sitting around or in pointless meetings. The only time of business is when the occasional project comes along. This was the case way before AI. 😳
