It sucks that companies can't just start making GPUs because architecture for these cards can't just be immediately made. It's pretty much a monopoly.

It's insane to me as nearly every major tech breakthrough started in the enthusiast market. Hell, windows and apple wouldn't exist without people like us. Not billion dollar companies.

This feels like the Covid Bubble all over. Where everyone was making "record highs" and "this is the new future, where we make BILLIONS easily!", only for things to go back to normal and companies to eat shit ovee their sweeping changes.

The worst part will be when the manufacturers stop supporting cards altogether, and nobody will make updates and patches for them anymore.

If not bubble, why bubble shaped? Consumer desire for AI is at an all time low, and continues to tank even lower. Meanwhile gaming has become a fundamental and beloved part of modern culture with millions of people lining up to spend money on quality products.

It's funny because they're not actually making all of this money. They're selling it to Shell corporations who are AI companies that don't really have any kind of profitable business plan in place so they're all fully expecting to go out of business in order to train AI models, but then they'll own the AI models so that they can go bankrupt and then sell those AI models for fortunes themselves back to these companies which these AI models will then be worth absolutely nothing because none of us consumer humans actually give a singular fuck about AI. So basically we have these companies siphoning all of our money and then sending it through a fucking washing machine we're just spins around 7 million times and never gets put back into the economy because it's just trapped in this AI fucking cycle of changing hands between AI companies

Yeah ok so how much of this is real tangible money? Like, are they still gonna be able to report this is profit when the data centers can't actually pony up the dough? 🤔

What’s ironic is the future of AI is with edge computing. I think NVIDIA will have a massive falloff soon. Local ai models are getting good enough to run fast and work well on even 8GB graphics cards, at least for casual use. Ironically, big AI companies are digging their own grave by making models more efficient to the point they don’t need big data centers.

The main thing is so long as the US government doesn’t cut off external foreign competition in the cpu components space. They cannot cut off competition and then just up charge everyone. There will be a competitor to fill the gaps in true free market.

Walmart is tanking this week, so if Nvidia were to still be pulling its main profit from us gamers the likelihood of a huge dip in the coming month due to the floor drop would have been a thing. If they're focused on the commercial "fleet" instead, it'll be less likely that they take a huge hit. So, don't expect prices to drop any time soon for new Nvidia cards.
This bubble cannot pop fast enough
