Crimson Desert, Really enjoying it, took me a few hours understand its plays diffrent.
The last thing you said is the most important. Even if Valve sells only 1 Steam Machine then buries every other unit and prototype in the desert, that single Steam Machine is going to have a bigger library than every single console in history... Combined. Same with the Steamdeck, doesn't matter that it sold less than the Wii U, it runs PC games, the installed base metric doesn't matter at all. The games are already there when it launches.

PC Gamers have this long standing library of games that’s perennially available, generation after generation. The Steam Machine capitalizes on an idea that if you’re someone who already has a Steam Library, you’re not locked into this generational churn and you can alternatively buy this Steam Machine instead of Xbox, PlayStation and switch, and continue to use all the games that you already own.

I’m a father of 4 and a grandad. I’ve been able to put close to 200 hours into Crimson Desert and though it’s taking a while. I’m enjoying every minute of it. Before that I beat Resident Evil Requiem and I think that game will win Game of the Year. Crimson Desert deserves it but I think Resident Evil will take it. Haven’t played Pragmata yet but it’s not too late to change my mind on GOTY. 😂 love your channel Bill!

I used the reservation system to get in line for the Steam Controller on May 10th. I still haven't received an email saying a controller is available for purchase (today is the 26th, so 16 days later). Yeah, I don't think Valve is going to have a steam machine available for most interested gamers regardless of price for a long time.
I don't care about the steam machine any more I built a TV PC (costed a lot) running Bazzite. Still waiting for the controller to be available. Steam machine is going to sell out and be amazing. Emulator upscale is great too. It's not a console, it's a PC. Worth the extra price.
