Why we may have just months before AI hacking goes mainstream

Tech

AI is getting much better at hacking and fast. Sky News technology correspondent Rowland Manthorpe examines new evidence showing how models including Anthropic’s Mythos and OpenAI's GPT 5.5-Cyber are becoming dramatically more capable at cyber-attacks. Using data from the UK AI Security Institute, the Center for AI Standards and Innovations (CAISI) and others, he explains why this is no longer just a warning about one powerful model, but a much bigger industry-wide shift. He also looks at why open-source models mainly coming from China could soon put these capabilities into much wider circulation, raising the pressure to patch vulnerable software fast.
