Sheβs likely getting another $200k in those. Most AWS engineers are making about $300k+ in total compensation. Iβll be transitioning from HR to data science when I finish my masters and will likely be making close to that $300k mark. Fingers crossed π€πΎ Even those $120k to work in HR isnβt bad either!

Donβt ever do a bootcamp for IT. If you are not self taught after the age of 20, donβt get into IT. Itβs an artisant craft that requires talent and passion, if you donβt have the passion you will never learn, and you will never be better then the nexlbeards that sits every night after works and work for βfunβ and build shit during the weekend.

She probably has more certifications than that, and tech experience. If you work a tech help desk that helps a bit. Also her being an accountant helps pay for those more expensive certifications

Thatβs not entirely accurateβ¦. You explained an architect. They are the builders, as itβs in the name βarchitectβ. Engineers usually do operational maintenance type tasksβ¦ theyβre not building out architectural designs from scratchβ¦ hence the name engineer vs architect.
