This video contains promotional content for Lars Monsen-products, sold in the Sport Outlet stores and on https://www.larsmonsen.no The summer of 1999 was the first time I brought a video camera into the wild. In this episode, I dig up my long-lost DV tapes from a short, but intense expedition to Katmai National Park, Alaska. Alongside my good friend John Trampush, we explore one of the most bear-dense areas in the world during the peak of the salmon run. This trip marked the start of my filming career, and the footage shows a wilderness encounter as raw and mind-blowing today as it was 27 years ago. For those of you who have followed Lars Monsen's many TV series on NRK the last 25 years - get ready for an entertaining half hour! #larsmonsen #thelosttapes #alaska #katmai #bears #wilderness #rawfootage #bearencounter #expedition #survival #adventure

Tip: Always have Lars recognisable(Face) in the thumbnail(in some capasity), It will generate 100x engagement and views, aswell as mentioning him in the title. like " Lars Monsen never seen footage in Katmai, 1999"(just example). I totally get that intuitively, you might think the bears will be the "Interesting part" but the success is actually "Lars experiencing the bears and us through him. Even I saw the video recommended to me however did not react as I did not "realise" it was this channel from the quick glanse you often spare recommended videos. I only found it after checking the channel manually because I was expecting the video today. Other than that, amazing footage!!!! keep it up. (I see that you have actually done this to an extent on the other videos, however just want it to continue as this video deserves alot of attention aswell.)
do you notice how much calm it is watching this movie? Compared to todays standard where everyone is screaming and shouting and WHATS UP GUYS TODAY!!! we will be EXPLORING!!! these LAKES!!
I had the privilege to meet Lars in 1997 at katmai. When he and his brother were canoeing through the park. I was the bartender there that summer and remember the great stories of adventure that Lars told us. Glad to see your doing well. Our saying that summer was. Look there’s a bear in the river! As we’d always be able to see bears from the windows in the bar.
I just spit a mouthful of coffee on my laptop-screen when the dead guy was unloaded from the plane.
"And this is the dead guy we brought along." 😂😂😂
One word: Fantastic!! These footages are priceless
Great video guys! The "dead guy" gave me a good laugh. 😄👍 Good thing you didn’t have to drag that mic all the way across Canada. 😊 Good to have you on YT!
This is exactly what humans need in this fast moving harsh times. 30 minutes of nature imagine how it would be. The smell, the sound, the peace....and maybe go on our own expeditions. Thank you so much Lars and it was fun to see the younger you
Releasing this at midnight, work will be rough tomorrow
Fantastic stuff, Lars :-)
Kaffe og monsen til frokost!
Love this, Lars! I lost count of how many times I viewed all your series. It's my "comfort" when I don't have the ability to get out on long solo trips myself. Awesome with some new footage. I had a good laugh by the "sound like sport commentator" haha. As a dog person, I would love some "behind the scenes" or never seen fotage with your dogs. Fell in love with Foss, and Teddy is a funny brat, but quick learner. I saw he's a lead dog now. That's awesome! And by the way - Many years ago you met and said hello to my previous dog at Villmarksmessa. She didn't really care about strangers, but she gave you a "kiss" in the face and I was lucky to catch it on camera. haha.
Helt fantastisk bra. Når bjørnen løp forbi leiren var det som å høre Arne Scheie kommentere i 82 med ullsokk tredd over mikrofonen 😂😂
Just dropping it here, Lars can you maybe do a video with tips on hiking/camping with a dog?
Dette var morro å se Lars :) This was fun to watch Lars :).
Haha konge Lars. Helt rå kommentering av binna nærme på stranda :D
