Black and white laser printers can track stuff too. The printer can subtly alter the halftone dithering pattern (how tiny black dots cluster to create gray shades) to hide tracking codes in plain sight,

they dont always use yellow dots and monochrome printers aren’t necessarily exempt from some sort of “watermark”.

This is why black and white laser printers are always the best.

Write your own driver to add dots randomly, to screw with whatever the firmware does :)

Fun fact, back in the day when HP was developing this tech, we had a kid on our trail crew who was in for counterfeiting. Turns out the printer he used to print out the fakes was one being used to test/develop the said tech. His dad was an HP firmware engineer...
