But at less than 10% of the cost of the Fluke version, this is actually viable for those who have specialist hobby uses. For me the most exciting discovery was how it locked onto the corona discharge of the air invigorator from 10m away! It's extremely quiet to the human ear and yet the camera could detect it from a significant distance. The on-screen frequency display indicated a high ultrasonic content from the tiny corona discharge at the tips of the needles. As with other test equipment like thermal cameras, it's useful to understand the nature of what you're looking at. Low frequency sound waves tend to modulate the air in a room, while higher frequency sounds become progressively more directional. That is honestly the best thing since thermal cameras! That will diagnose the noisy switching power supplies that people of our age struggle to hear anymore.

This would be great for home audio systems to identify and eliminate sound reflection points.
The absolute gold standard use for these devices is finding sources of vibration/noise on complex machinery/devices Not just to reduce that noise (which is important) but to find sources of vibration/wear/failure LONG before you could see or otherwise detect those. The ever-amazing Benn Jordan has also experimented with these things with some amazing results
Point that at a tree in the morning when birds start singing! That would actually be good for bird watchers! Will it be able to find a hidden prank noise maker?
One of the most amazing demonstrations I've seen with these was finding a crack in pottery. By placing a sound source within an object this device can find all the cracks and small holes. So when you want to inspect a pipe or cavity that isn't running and empty and therefore silent, you can simply insert a sound source somewhere in the system and still find leaks.
That price point is VERY tempting. I don't have enough disposable income to throw at it but if I had a repeatable use for it I would grab it.
Adam Savage recently demo’d one of these, finding an air leak in his shop very quickly and effectively.
