Tham Luang Cave Rescue 😨(explained)

Important to note Richard Harris developed this plan to help rescue the boys. He’s both a very experienced anaesthetist and cave diver. Absolutely incredible rescue and they are all very lucky to have this help.

The reason the person died is because the rope system they used to navigate in the tunnels got his oxygen mask stuck, he struggled too much and was losing oxygen, eventually killing him. RIP

The Coach deserves some recognition as well because he helped teach the boys to meditate and survive without any real food or clean water for the extended period of time and for them to have hope of rescue.

I was at that cave twice. Long before that accident and six month after. In front of the cave stands a statue with the diver who died. I have the highest respect of that international team, who rescued them.

Being knocked out by anesthesia to receive surgery is terrifying enough for me.. but being knocked out to be dragged underwater through caves is nightmare fuel. Thank God for those rescuers

I remember watching the documentary on this on disney +. The rescuer who died was a vet and was retired but came out for this mission. His sacrifice for this mission truly helped. Rest in peace. ❤

I can only imagine the guilt of knowing someone died trying to rescue you, genuinely hope the rescuer is in everlasting peace and that everyone else involved is doing okay

One fact you left out: it was actually two people who died. One from the tunnels like you said and one from long term disease from the caves 6 months later. Both of the men had a statue/memorial in their honor.

I am from Thailand. I still remember that people all over the world are praying for them. In Thailand that time, hundreds of people working together in front of the cave or in the cave whatever rescuers who risking dive through the cave, foreigners who fly from half of the world to help, military who pump the water and do labor and prepare the helicopter, hospital who stand by for days, locals who pray or help with cooking. It's important to note that they were not anesthetized like how you would be during surgery. They were instead sedated with ketamine; making them feel very calm and relaxed and hopefully having no memory of the journey. This would allow them to still be able to breathe on their own whilst being sedated.

They gotta get a raise with a major promotion. Props to these rescuers. Thanks for saving those 13* or more lives. RIP for one who died 🙏
