No guide, no experience, no spare batteries for lights, no helmet. I've seen enough horror stories about inexperienced cavers getting stuck and dying to know this was a bad idea.

All of us that go to sleep listening to cave diving disaster videos suffered through this. The “no guide would take us” and hand drawn map were a typical intro into a “these inexperienced cave explorers met a grim fate” type of video. Glad you’re safe.
Literally no helmet, no spare batteries, the cave must not have had a log because they didn't know if people were down there. This all spells disaster to me. Glad you made it out safely.
