In the past, people in Indonesia often chewed, perhaps the ingredients they sprayed on the cave walls were betel leaves, areca nuts, and betel lime. Their purpose in chewing was to strengthen their teeth so they wouldn't decay easily. Hand painting seems to be a custom of a certain tribe, because I've also seen a video from the SAM WILD channel in Raja Ampat where they got the same painting on the cliff wall of the island.

These are scientists that are intellectuals and ecology experts that respect nature, its beauty and its dangers, yet no one is wearing a life jacket in class IV rapids and caves. Brilliant minds!

Sounded like the narrator called the lizard a hyposaurus, but that is an extinc crocodilian. The lizards in the documentary are Hydrosaurus, or sailfin dragon lizard. Never heard of it before, so I had to look it up. Very cool!

They just found stone tools on Sulawesi that date back 1-1.5 million years. Also their meat markets are the craziest in the world. Rats, bats, and snakes. Island also has a higher than average Christian population compared to other areas of Indonesia. It’s a much under explored island for sure
