Im glad this air purifier isn't a massive room full of moss and algae
It would be nice to have buttons on the odd cube. There is nothing more frustrating than loosing the remote for a device.
I love it. Some feature suggestions: 1. A manual control panel. Remotes break. You may have done that and I missed it. 2. A little slot on the control panel for the remote, so it doesn't get lost. 3. When reconected to power it starts in the last set mode, enabling use of a smart socket.
Never seen a marketing reel that does actual honest scientific comparisons with a competitor before
Hoping there is a "electronics and 3d printing files" option similar to so many other open source projects. I think for a project like this, open source + first party kits would be ideal
hanging the oddcube? design an alternate triangle face with a few loops on it, so it can be hung from hooks. can be ceiling or wall mounted then.
Would love to see this powered by a standard USB-C cable so that even the power supply is trivially replaceable. And it would be great to see a version that has no lights and no controller, just immediately turns on when plugged in. (Or maybe that's the default mode, or there's a way to _switch_ it to that mode, mechanically.) Because if you lose the controller, the most basic functionality should still work in the least obnoxious way possible, i.e. usable at night or on a power timer.
5 days to prototype, 5+ weeks to production. This is the Way.
as the owner of 7 cats and 2 dogs in shedding season I thank you.
7:16 "This was supposed to be simple." The most relatable moment as a maker channel.
Outside of the US those filters are a nightmare to find! Been building things around the IKEA filters.. They are actually cheaper than most other filters and they are global!
Needs a basic option with no controller, no lights, BYO: PSU, fans & filters. Premium Option with PSU, RGB fans, controller, filters etc. Deluxe/Smart option = Premium + sensors PM2.5-10/Temp/Humidity etc, App, BT/Wifi/Home assistant integration maybe using an ESP32?
As an air purifier nerd, you are doing everything right. The inclusion of a particle sensor would be beneficial. It would be even better if the speed of the fans could increase or decrease based on how dirty the air is. Maybe also change the lighting color based on the air quality sensor data too. But the thought you have put into this is exactly what I have been looking for in an air purifier. I'm tired of spending $100 for a new filter every year. Count me in.
Question 1: Where do I mount the ESP32 to integrate this into my smart home? Question 2: Where do I mount the particulate sensor I connect to that ESP32 to automatically adjust the fan speed based on the particulate count? Put that ceiling mount as a stretch goal because I need a floating glowing health cube in my life.
I love the idea, but can you add a control panel for it that is on the air purifier itself. People will probably lose their remotes.
One problem - can it withstand the weight and airflow restriction of a 13lb cat laying on it? Because you know no cat will be able to resist laying on top. :(
Please open source the print files for those who want to diy it

00:45 pocket hotdog cooker is an amazing idea and nobody can convince me otherwise.
17:33 What if each foot had a ring somewhere for people to tie string of their choice around it to help hang it?
