Really high quality B&W displays almost trick your eye into thinking its in color!
Being 51, I can remember when “active matrix” was a big, big deal. From a practical standpoint, it was the difference between needing cursor trails turned on or off and, very importantly, the ability to track scrolled text in a window. In an era when most LCD panels (monochrome or color) looked terrible, these things looked amazing.
I love the "The Internet" desktop icon. That's where The Internet was supposed to be, not always connected, shoveling data in the background and bombarding you with notifications.
That screen is beautiful.

This video is a nice reminder that, while computer prices are certainly inflated these days, they are still way, way lower than what they were in the 90s. I remember wanting a computer so bad in 1993 but my parents just couldn't afford it. And that was with them making decent money. I finally got my first computer in December 1995. It was a Pentium 75 with 8 MB ram and an 850 MB hard drive. With a 15" monitor and printer, the system costs over $5,000 in today's money. Of all my friends, I was the only one to have a computer for a few years after that. Heck, I remember when the Pentium II 450 released in 1998, it was the equivalent of almost $1,350 today just for the CPU. And it was completely out of date in less than three years. So, while things seem bad now, they were worse not all that long ago.

Glad to see these on your channel. I have 2 LTE Elite 4/40cxs with color LCD , dead floppys on both of 'em with a stretched belt. Wierd "Citizen W1D" slim drives with non standard flat cable connectors. There was a Go-tek like emulator for a music keyboard that had the same drive and there was the OpenFlops-W1D. But I don't think it's still sold. I used a PCMCIA to CF Industrial and a CF Industrial to IDE adapter as a removable drive and system drive as well as a 10mbit PCMCIA networkadapter. Nowadays, I have the elite dock but the lower case is shattered in shipping. I have to agree, lovely display on these. In the future I hope to get YYZKevins PicoPCMCIA card running in it when I get it. Like the PicoMem and PicoGUS but for old laptops w/PCMCIA Cardbus. Sound on these will be sweet.
