Tonight! Richard reads Top Gear history from a laptop, James is selling his gin, and I grow some vegetables.
Lifelong Alabama resident. Love the episode- when they get to the state line and the welcome to Alabama sign has bullet holes in it and Jeremy looks at James and exclaims “May! They’ve shot their own sign!!” I spit my tea out.
Ironically the gas station was named Pride 🤣
It’s crazy how time zones work. like for example here it’s a lil after 12, but for about half my country it’s still 1953.
Alabama! 20yrs ago WOW!
The only thing that ever offended me for either show was that it ended. I often rewatch episodes as there's nothing quite like it.
Comments and answers approved by the legal team 😅
The piano community was pretty upset because you kept destroying pianos...
"Well I say lady." 😂
Whenever someone claims Top Gear was "scripted", I point them at the "we had to film it found-footage style" part of the Alabama incident and go, "Does it sound like they're just _pretending_ they're about to get slimed by a gang of cousin-kissers???"
Oi! Jumpleads! 😂😂
Him calling the Camaro a Trans-am bothers me more than it should.
What was your favourite special?
For years, you made this planet a bit more tolerable. That is a best thing a human can do.
I have just finished reading Andy Wilman's book "Mr Wilman's motoring adventure", and as someone who grew up watching TG and then GT, it was truly gripping and it filled in some gaps that the TV shows never alluded to. It would be fantastic if Richard wrote a book to showcase his memories and tales.
2:41 the moment May asked Hammond for jump leads was frightening. Of all the times he broke down when under attack.
1:37 that was an amazing accent 😮
7:13 if you do a number plate check it does actually show you that the number plate has been on that car since 1992
"Nobody was hurt, apart from me" says man who couldn't flirt with his own wife bc he knew he was married, but couldn't remember her face. there will never, ever be another show like Top Gear.
0:10 Both James and Jeremy: HAMMOND!!!!!!!!!!!
