I was going to scrap my car due to the cost of a new DPF but I came across a hack and I had nothing to lose. I cleaned mine with Mr Muscle Oven Cleaner after I got a warning light and went into limp mode - I didn't even remove the DPF - I just drilled a hole above, filled it with MM and then tapped a thread and sealed it with a bolt. Wait 15 mins minimum then go for a drive! I repeated it another 2 times to make sure. It drives like new!

So to save the planet you store up all the crap and regenerate periodically to blow all thecrap out anyway and store more crap in the dpf for you to collect and throw out anyway, what a world
