Dog enrichment hacks, I made my dog a frozen enrichment bowl for summer and he did not come up for air for 30 minutes. Two bowls. Some fruit, veggies, and treats. Water. A ring of frozen goodness your dog has to work through to get to the good stuff. Plus I snuck in some Native Pet Gut Health powder for his stinky breath because why not make it functional while we're at it. How to make it: 🥣 Grab two bowls, one larger than the other 🍓 Add fruits, veggies, or your dog's favorite treats to the larger bowl 🫙 Place the smaller bowl inside and weigh it down with water so it stays centered 💧 Fill the larger bowl with water around the smaller bowl 🌿 Top with more snacks and a scoop of Native Pet Gut Health powder ❄️ Freeze until completely solid 🏆 Pop it out and hand it over. You now have 30 uninterrupted minutes. Perfect for hot days, high energy dogs, or anyone who just needs their dog occupied for a little while. 💬 What do you freeze into your dog's enrichment bowl? Cool here’s a recipe of brownies Ingredients14 tablespoons unsalted butter (200g), roughly chopped\(1 \frac{1}{4}\) cups dark chocolate chips or chopped baking chocolate (215g)1 cup loosely packed brown sugar or caster sugar (200g)3 large eggs, lightly beaten1 teaspoon vanilla extract\(\frac{1}{2}\) cup all-purpose flour (60g)\(\frac{1}{4}\) cup cocoa powder (30g), sifted\(\frac{1}{4}\) teaspoon saltInstructions1. Prep the Oven and PanPreheat your oven to 180°C (350°F). Line the bottom and sides of a 20 × 20 cm (8 × 8 inch) metal baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a slight overhang on the sides for easy removal later.2. Melt the Chocolate and ButterPlace the chopped butter and 1 cup of the dark chocolate chips into a heatproof glass bowl. Set the bowl over a small saucepan of gently simmering water (the bottom of the bowl should not touch the water) and stir occasionally until completely smooth. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.3. Whisk the Sugar and EggsIn a separate large mixing bowl, vigorously whisk together the brown sugar, beaten eggs, and vanilla extract for about 1 to 2 minutes. Whisking the eggs and sugar thoroughly is the secret to getting that beautiful, shiny, crackly top on your brownies.4. Combine Wet IngredientsSlowly pour the warm, melted chocolate-butter mixture into the egg-sugar mixture while whisking continuously. Keep whisking until the batter is a uniform, velvety black color and there are no streaks of fat or sugar remaining.5. Fold in Dry IngredientsAdd the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, and salt directly to the wet mixture. Use a silicone spatula to gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture, using a scraping and turning motion. Stop mixing the exact moment the flour disappears to avoid overworking the gluten, which will make your brownies cakey instead of fudgy.6. Add the Final ChipsFold in the remaining \(\frac{1}{4}\) cup of dark chocolate chips (or mix-ins like roughly chopped walnuts) until just combined and evenly distributed throughout the batter.7. Pour and BakePour the thick batter into your prepared baking pan and use your spatula to spread it into an even layer. Bake in the center of the oven for 25 to 30 minutes. For a gooey, super-fudgy center, take them out when a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs attached.8. Cool and SliceRemove the pan from the oven and let the brownies cool completely in the pan on a wire rack (at least 2 hours). Attempting to slice them while warm will cause them to crumble. Once cooled, use the parchment overhang to lift them out, slice into neat squares, and serve.
