Gareth heads north to Wick, at the very top of Scotland, to join Tim Martin and the team at Mar-Train Heavy Haulage for a very different kind of job! They’re transporting enormous wind turbine blades from Wick Harbour to its destination using Mar-Train’s incredible new specialist trailer—an extraordinary piece of engineering worth more than £2 million. Tim takes us behind the scenes of the operation, explaining how they negotiate tight corners, steep climbs and challenging Scottish roads with loads this size. Along the way, Gareth learns more about the world of heavy haulage, the Mar-Train business and what it takes to move some of the largest loads on the road. There’s also plenty of lorry talk, brand rivalry and the usual 'Craic' between Gareth and Tim! A huge thanks to Tim and everyone at Mar-Train Heavy Haulage for bringing us along. To his surprise, a large following soon developed and the niche in the market for real-life, documentary, farming and machinery action made it possible to drive the brand forward. We at GRASSMEN, pride ourselves on providing an exclusive look into agricultural manufacturers, meeting real, working farmers, showing and demonstrating tractors and machinery through all seasons such as silage and slurry and ultimately educating and entertaining our fans. Mar train need to ad e scooters for the lads walking behind and beside the load
Coys never in doubt
Scania and Volvo are great trucks. Merc and Man for the heavy stuff though. I had the older model for that truck. You could put it in reverse going down hill and control speed by throttling up. Was a head bender to accelerate down a hill to slow down. Great tool though, not sure if that one is the same. Great video
It's commom law, the land owner has jurisdiction over and under the ground, the way it should be
