It will come up with a message then restart like a PC would. Also, you can hold the key to the left A pillar scanner for the van to recognize the key and bypass the code.

Rich, you can reset the van. Hold down on hazards and left steering wheel button on for 10 seconds. It probably bugged out when you changed the battery. You don’t need to disconnect the fireman’s loop.

I used to be a fleet manager for an Amazon DSP so I'm somewhat familiar with these vans. The code to drive should be the last six digits of the VIN number. Also, there was a recall on them for the rear axle snapping at the welds. It looks like this one has a different design than the ones I've seen break but it's definitely something to keep an eye on.

I used to work at Amazon in their Workplace Health and Safety department. When you get a chance to test again, make sure all the doors are closed. You didn’t get an error for it, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Amazon prevents the van from moving unless the door is shut and the seatbelt clicked. I worked in a fulfillment center not a delivery station, but OSHA’s hierarchy of controls is the same nonetheless.

I'm not sure if you will see this but I work for Amazon and we can restart the van completely by holding the left button on the steering wheel left hand and the hazards at the same time simultaneously for a few seconds the van will notify you

Drove these all the time at Amazon, if you hold the far left button on the steering wheel and the hazards for 10 seconds at the same time, it fully restarts the van. Most of the time this seriously fixes every single issue with it not detecting keys or charging, etc. the EDV500/700 is seriously one of the worst delivery vans we had at Amazon and I had to help my dispatch fix almost everything on them all the time (except batteries).

I work on those. Ebrake unit needs dealer reset. Or get software obdII for that truck. Thats how the code disables truck. . 3 main fuses in dash can blow also. Fix all the codes. Reset . Close all doors. Unplug cable . Foot on brake. Stop start button 5 cycles on off. Enter drver code. Good luck

One nice thing about buying an Amazon delivery van is when you need a replacement trim part, you just order something random off Amazon. When the truck shows up you quickly snatch the part while they are dropping off the package. Bam, free parts! Edit: they talked about ordering a package to steal the drivers badge. Minds in the same place😂 What if the parking brake issue is the drivers door being open. Ba safety feature. I had to turn mine off for 2024 Tacoma. It was such a pain. Whenever you’d open your door the parking brake would slam on.
