The five teenage boys killed in a head-on collision when their car was driven the wrong way down the M9 motorway have been named locally. They have been named as Joe Carthy from Athy, Co Kildare; Alex McCarthy from Carlow; Kamil Pustkowski from Limerick; Jeremy O'Brien and Jack Kennedy. The Garda Representative Association said the five teenagers were evading gardaí in a stolen BMW which was then driven onto the wrong side of the M9 where it hit a car carrying a family on their way to Dublin Airport. The family in the second car - three women and a seven-year-old boy - are being treated in hospital. Minister for Justice Jim O'Callaghan said the garda commissioner confirmed that he will introduce garda pursuit training this year. "This is the first time gardaí will receive this specialist training," he said. The country is in a sad state when 5 teenagers die and society is probably the better for it. One less house robbed tonight, one less car stolen. More juvenile detention centers need to be built and parents held accountable.

This is really sickening. Parents, you should know where your children are at all times. YOU are responsible for them, like it or not. They should all have been home in bed at that hour of the night, not out in the community creating havoc. Now you have to live with the consequences of their bad choices for the rest of your lives. Every one of those families should be investigated for neglectful parenting.
The Victims in the Stolen Car: Five teenage boys (aged 15 to 18) who were inside the stolen BMW died in the crash. Reports indicate they were masked in balaclavas and the vehicle was linked to a local crime spree earlier that night. They got what they deserve, hope innocent ppl will recover as soon as possible. ZERO tolerance to crime. Garda need training to shot them before they kill innocent ppl. Parents of this boys have to compensate all medical expenses and property damages to victims and government property, only this will make their parents accountable.

Parents must be held accountable if proven they did nothing to stop their teens antisocial behaviour and crimes. Start charging parents and this will stop very fast.
