My F1 visa for studying acting has been rejected. While the rejection letter says I can re-apply, the application fee costs over 500 dollars and rejection rate has been so high that I don’t want to rack up records of application and rejection in such as short period of time. The $100K fee for H1B visa also makes it impossible for any US employers to hire me. As for the PhD apps, the result was not a surprise at all. I went in knowing I probably wouldn’t get accepted. I only have 2 years of RA experience in college and have only published one non academic book which is not related to psychology at all😂 It’s sad that I didn’t get a chance to say goodbye to my friends. I left believing I’d return with a new visa. I thought I’d be studying acting in New York now. That’s why my cats and all my belongings are still there. The cats have been taken care of by my friend and partner 24/7 since I left. I’m fundraising to bring my kitties from NYC to Taiwan. Your help, no matter the amount, will be deeply appreciated: https://www.gofundme.com/f/help-bring-dexter-and-debra-home/ (this video was filmed in April 2026)

Very brave of you to voice your experiences. Saying that I wish you the best isn't helpful. I can only say that you should keep your dreams alive and keep going. You are deserving to stay in the states more than most. But perhaps also this may be a blessing is disguise.
If you need someone to watch your cats for now I live in nyc 😭♥️
I'm so sorry! I'm Canadian, and earlier this year something similar happened to a coworker. He came in 2016, did his degree here, worked here, was working through his PR process to eventually become a citizen, doing it with a lawyer and everything. One day he left early for a meeting about his PR application and told us all he'd see us tomorrow. The next day he wasn't there. In the afternoon we were told his PR was rejected, Visa ended early, eligibility to work in the country terminated immediately. I had to clean out his desk, gather up his files for preservation before his computer was wiped, etc.
First of all: I'm so sorry, that your dream of living in the US didn't go well. Second: have u tried to get your cats through one of these groups on FB? There's plenty of groups of people travelling and are happy to help with bringing Cats and Dogs from A to B. I myself did it quite often from my vacations. The owner just had to pay for the ticket of the pet. And I had the cats with me as luggage on board not as cargo. Third have u thought about Europe? Living, employment and travelling are a lot more easier here. Good luck to you, stay brave!❤
I am so sorry. I hate my country right now. You seem like a wonderful, intelligent young woman and would only have been a benefit to have in our country. Not just for what you could have contributed but for what those around you could have learned from you and your friendship. It’s our loss 😢
This is not the end. A new path will open up for you, whether it's in the U.S., Taiwan, or somewhere else. I believe it, I see the drive in you to make it happen 💖
I have seen people who got kicked out of the US try to go back in for 15 years, and still trying. Their whole lives are consumed by getting a US visa. My advice, there are opportunities in other places, so many cool countries to explore and live in. Don't waste your life to go to a place that can kick you out so easily. God speed and good luck to you!
I feel your pain my wife and i have been having a lot of trouble getting back to the US after we came back to taiwan to have our daughter. Im american she is taiwanese, everyone thinks once you get married the rest is easy and it absolutely isnt.
Heyy you should keep recording, its nice to watch and you did good editing. So imo if you keep it up, you will get more views with time
Why not come to Europe, it is better than the US in every regard
I'm very sorry that your Visa was turned down but I'm also glad that you weren't caught in any type of deportation nonsense here in the US. You seem extremely resourceful and I hope you do continue to talk about your journey!❤❤❤
Girl. Hanging in there. God will open another door for you. You are great! ❤
I’m really sorry to hear what’s happening to you. Stay strong, and don’t give up. Brighter days are ahead
Sorry that it doesn't work out in the US. Sadly the immigration law is stricter everywhere these days with an increasing sense of anti-immigration globally. You are so talented and driven and I really hope there will be something better out of it for you.
To have arrived at such a late age and to have gained a perfect accent is every language learners dream
So sad ! You go girl … the best is yet to come
it’s okay kid. explore other countries and local opportunities and in time things will work out. Life’s all about dealing with bad situations and being flexible to make changes to keep moving.
Why was the student visa rejected? It seems like a regular F1 application
Best of luck! I hope you get to do what you really wanted to do!
I think you should be allowed to apply for visas while staying in the country you want the visa for. (Not US specific)
