A little problem turned into the perfect excuse for a cosy cottage makeover! The wallpaper in my bedroom nook had started peeling away from the wall, and after living with it for far too long, I decided it was time for a change. In today’s video, I’m stripping back the old wallpaper, assessing what went wrong and transforming this little corner with the prettiest whimsical floral wallpaper. This nook is home to one of my favourite second-hand finds, a beautiful antique writing desk I found a few years ago, so I wanted the new wallpaper to complement its warm wood and give the space that collected, cosy English cottage feel I love. Come along as I remove the peeling wallpaper, prepare the walls, hang the new floral paper and start bringing this little bedroom nook back together. It’s a relatively small DIY project, but one of those changes that completely transforms how a room feels. I’m also getting the space ready for another update later this autumn when my new window treatments arrive, so there will be another chapter to this little corner soon. If you love cosy cottage decorating, English cottage interiors, vintage and antique furniture, floral wallpaper, whimsical decor, small room makeovers and achievable DIY projects, I hope this gives you a little inspiration for your own home. 📌 Yes, I spotted the wallpaper pattern mismatch too! 👀 I made a little mistake and decided to leave it in the video rather than pretend everything I do turns out perfectly. That’s DIY! Hopefully you can learn from my mistake when doing your own. Perfectionists, please avert your eyes. 👀 I’m delighted with how the room turned out, imperfections and all! Let me know, have you made any DIY mistakes, help me feel better and share yours below.
I’ve had cats all my life. Never have I seen a cat reverse itself! So precious.
Bán reversing in the window has made my day 😊🐈
I love the new wallpaper. It goes so well with the stripe on the other wall. It looks better with the bedding too. No one is perfect but if you didn’t point it out I would never have noticed. ❤
❤ the pink sofa was iconic remember it fondly
Bán doing his moonwalk is the cutest thing ever ❤ xx
It looks lovely, and less busy than the previous. Calmer for a bedroom.
It can’t be that long since the paper went up? I feel like I am losing time. I thought it was about a year ago. 🤭😃❤
Wallpaper looks fantastic, I like the randomness ❤
Never seen a cat reverse into a window 😂
Oh my gosh..didn't I watch you put that wallpaper up last year? lol. I've been watching you for quite some time but dang! Father time is whizzing by. 😬 I must admit though,,it was coming off like a dream for decor enthusiasts. (TBH, i'm more fond of the New wallpaper) You are such a gifted young Lady. God Blesses You.
I love how this turned out.The Nook looks bigger with this paper. Always good to get Ban’s approval.
The new wallpaper is lovely, goes so well with the strip. Green is perfectly calming for a bedroom ❤
Just a hint, make sure you paste the wall AND the wallpaper. Particularly if you have thick paper, it needs to soak in for a few minutes before you put it in the wall. It looks lovely.
It's lovely wallpaper. It's much more relaxing than the busy flowers and bugs. And better matching with the stripes as you pointed out.
❤ love wallpaper. Do remember you wallpapering nook last time. Never seen a cat reverse before, made my day, just so cute.
The wallpaper is lovely. ❤ thanks.

I love a stripe and then on another wall a print I think they really complement each other. You did a great job of wallpapering. It looks beautiful.
I love the new wall paper Catherine, it goes perfectly with the striped wallpaper. You make it look easy.
