I’m Malaysian. The issue with Chery Omoda here is just the tip of the iceberg. All of Chery sub brands have these basic integral issue. Poor welding and very low quality metal and plastic used. Everything in the car is of poor quality. They bait you with good design and technology. Even this ‘good technology’ is doubtful because many car require ‘restart’ to get the HUD and other function to work again. To put into perspective, Chery cars have lost 50-60% of value in less than 1 year. RM100,000 Chery cars sold in 2025 is now selling at RM50k-40k in used car market. Imagine the trade in price, it should be even lower than that, probably RM20k-RM30k.
