Idgaf if it's ageist we need senior citizen driving tests to be mandatory. Whether elderly people want to admit it or not they are more likely to develop health issues that could impact or impair driving. Why do we just ignore this???

In my country you renew your license every 10 years. After 70 itβs every three. THATS WHY.

This is one of my greatest fears, just minding my own business being in the wrong place at the wrong time. Life is a lottery

The 83 year old driver mistook the gas for the brakes. She faced felony warrants, including reckless driving, speeding 95 in a 35 mph zone, serious injury by vehicle, and following too closely. Everyone involved in this accident lived. This happened in January earlier this year in Fort Oglethorpe, GA. I couldnβt find any other updates beyond this

What I found January 16, 2026, at about 1:15 p.m. at Battlefield Parkway and Dietz Road. *What Happened:* She struck multiple stopped cars at a red light, flipping her vehicle onto a Lexus carrying a mother and infant. *Injuries & Charges:* Four people were hospitalized, and the driver faces charges including reckless driving and serious injury by vehicle.

The elderly in Australia have had to have regular tests for years now. Its not discrimination. They will have cognitive and visual impairment at some point, its just common sense.

83 yr old at 83 mph? Hmmm!! But honestly we need to take driving way more seriously, test the elderly more frequently, take DLβs away from crap drivers etc etc. people act like itβs a right when itβs a privilege!

Always pay attention to your surroundings, even if you live in the area, accidents can happen anywhere.
