One thing i recommend as someone who's 18 and has had multiple relationships from the age of 12 to now, please remind them that they will never have pressure to rush into anything. It applies to everything. And even for break ups , which lets hope it doesn't happen any time soon , but no matter how much you liked a person , as long as you keep your self respect you will always be able to find yourself in life, as to be happy and fufilled, you do not need to be in a relationship or experience anything that others have and you haven't. And as someone who has always been very open with my mother about relationships , relationship problems , and intercourse , i know one thing is that , never ever push to know more, i doubt you will but its best to say , your kids will come to you when they feel the most distressed or at need. Seeing how well you are raising your kids i doubt they'll even hesitate to come forward and tell you about anything. And also , yes , keep their relationships private ! As i saw from experience, people knowing too much about your relationship , will put alot of pressure on said relationship to be perfect .

My mom told me the things she would like me to wait on (like sex, she always asked that I wait until I was 18) however, she always told me that no matter what I did - whether I did it sooner than she liked or not - she was here every step of the way. I never felt the need to hide things from her because of how open she kept our conversations. Even things I knew she wouldn’t like.

My mom never had any rules on dating specifically, she said that she had dated in senior year and that that was fun bc she had someone to go to prom with. But she also said that she kept it too serious and it was a struggle when she tried to keep it in college. She also made sure my brothers were always respectful to their girlfriends, but never forced gender rules either. She also said that she would be ok with a non-straight relationship and made sure that we felt comfortable telling her that. “Keep the door open” was also a prominent rule in the relationships when you got 16+ and that was also partly bc my parents made it a big deal to talk to the parents of the partner. This was the best decision they made because with talking to the parents they were all able to discuss what they wanted for their children. It all depends on what ur kids are like but I think ur doing a good job!

Dating isn't what should be controversial, Kaden only putting his seat belt on properly again after realising the camera is on is what should be. Mom or dad should never keep driving when kids don't follow mandatory safety. Especially at his height without any neck support on the middle seat.. can say goodbye to any teen dances with one irresponsible driver crashing into you. Safety isn't negotiable or cool to neglect no matter the age.

Only way I can think to fix the living room cable problem is to get an electrician out to put outlets in the middle of the room in the floor. Able to be done, but probably a HUGE pain
