Its not the small local farms that do things like that. I used to live in an extremely rural area of Britain and all the people i knew were farmers, and they treated there livestock just as well as he did. Still, some large industrial farms are like factories, and they but up farmers land and kill animals cruelly and on a huge scale. Those are the ones you have to watch out for, like how you should only buy free range eggs. They also taste better when they are free range, which is why buying quality products are important.
